Family Programs

All of the programming at Americana Community Center aims to strengthen families by allowing each member to reach their full potential within the community.

Family Night: Americana hosts Family Night from 5pm until 7pm on the last Thursday of each month. Family Nights offer valuable information and acts as an open forum for family issues such as the JCPS school system, bus routes, grading scales, nutrtion, stress management and more; the evening’s discussion topic is dependent on the needs of families. Family Night is fun for everyone and childcare is provided!

Family Education: A four component program that assists parents in becoming more attuned to their child’s development and education. It includes ESL instruction for parents, advancement in parental understanding of their child’s education, early childhood education activities for preschool-aged children, and special parent/child interaction time. Family Education is a terrific catalyst for developing better connections between home and school for the families served.

Americana Fiberworks is a women’s arts and educational group designed to support the positive integration of refugee and immigrant women into the Louisville community using a common interest in the fiber arts.
