During the month of February, Americana is participating in the Fund for the Arts’ matching campaign that will support the Creative Arts Program – an incredibly important piece of Americana’s holistic programming. All donations up to $5,000 will be matched, so please consider giving what you can and make twice the impact! The Creative Arts Program benefits youth through opportunities for the development of a healthy multi-cultural identity, for self-expression, for exploring interests and talents, and for therapeutic practices, especially in response to increased bullying and harassment that our youth have faced recently.
This year-round program has helped youth who are shy or closed off come out of their shell in art classes and students have attended special arts programs – including the Youth Performing Arts School – for arts they first explored at Americana. The youth in our programs succeed academically as well: 100% of high school seniors graduated and enrolled in college for the fourth consecutive year and youth had an average school attendance rate of almost 98% last year.
Your support will expand creative arts opportunities for more than 250 refugee, immigrant, and underserved children at Americana and will help them realize their individual potential.
